Le Beau has more than 25 years of experience in business development, market research, retail sales and route to market rollouts in South Africa and across the Sub-Saharan Africa region.

He has represented various multi-nationals working in Africa at retail level, with particular emphasis on unlocking the emerging markets.  He has spent considerable time setting up and managing units in African BoP markets such as South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Zambia

HENDRIK LABUSCHAGNE

Hendrik has 25 years FMCG experience managing distributors, agents and sales forces in South Africa and Sub-Sahara Africa within multi-nationals including BIC ,L’Oreal, Dark & Lovely and Namaste Labs.

Work scope included Key Account Management, New Business Development, Distributor Management, finding new distributors and launching new products.

With extensive FMCG, Route To Market, company and product registration and market research experience, Hendrik has also build relationships with decision makers in most countries in Sub-Sahara Africa.

Africa has enjoyed substantial growth in the last 20 years. Since 1995 the annual African GDP has averaged 4.3% per year. As a result real income levels has increased annually per capita. Africa represents one of the last opportunities for companies to grow incrementally in a new market.

However the African continent represents vast challenges for new entrants into a market and can quickly erode investments. Some of the challenges are that Africa is not a province or one country.  It has 54 countries with a landmass larger than the USA, Argentina, China, Europe and India combined.  Additionally there are different legal and trading structures, multiple languages (2000 dialects) and English is not a common language.
